Mariana Stamatopoulos

Practice Manager & Remedial Massage Therapist

A hyper-organised people person with a passion for wellness, our friendly practice manager left a career in fashion to study remedial massage in 2011—and she hasn’t looked back! After completing her diploma, Mariana worked across Melbourne CBD physiotherapy clinics and spas, professional sports teams and the John Cade unit for eating disorders at Royal Melbourne Hospital, before joining the Collins Place Physio (now The Alignment Studio) team in 2015.

When not ensuring the smooth running of the studio, Mariana enjoys treating a range of patients, from the desk bound and sedentary to competitive athletes. Also qualified in relaxation massage and reflexology, with special interests in women’s health and naturopathy, Mariana tailors her treatments to ensure her clients achieve their desired results. Her holistic approach enlists a range of techniques such as trigger point therapy, myofascial release, manual lymphatic drainage (MLD), dry needling and exercise prescription.

An ambassador for Massage Myotherapy Australia, Mariana has also mentored students at the Southern School of Natural Therapies. In her spare time, you’ll find this keen yogi on the mat, or losing herself in one of the city’s amazing art galleries.

Top tip for better musculoskeletal health…

“Stretch, nourish, hydrate and keep moving.”

Go-to stretch…

“The open book thoracic spine stretch. Helping to restore some of the mobility that’s lost in our increasingly sedentary lifestyles, this upper-back stretch feels amazing after a long desk-bound day.”

I stay in balance by…

“Being an early riser gives me some all-important ‘me time’ and sets me up for the day. I also believe in the value of good sleep, remedial massage and time spent by the sea or in nature.”
