Completing her 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training in Thailand, Sojung (SJ) started teaching in Goa, India, in 2012. Since then she has taught in Thailand, India and Sri Lanka before settling in Melbourne in 2015. Specialising in Vinyasa and Hatha yoga, SJ teaches Power and Yin Yoga at The Alignment Studio.
SJ attributes her happiness in life to finding yoga over the past decade. She believes that yoga has its way of providing exactly what one needs. SJ’s aspiration in teaching is to help students find their wellbeing, happiness and clarity in life.
She focuses on Pranayama (breathing exercises) to build mind-body connection and find emotional clarity, and proper alignment of Asana (yoga postures) to build strength and flexibility.
SJ’s teaching shows her loving and caring nature as she helps each student, from beginner to experienced, feel comfortable in class. She puts emphasis on creating a safe and playful environment to practise by giving modifications and detailed instructions.

Go-to yoga pose…
