With a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) and comprehensive training in Clinical Pilates, Abi brings a strong understanding of anatomy, movement and rehabilitation to her teaching. Having danced for 17 years, she also brings a strong sense of body awareness and a personal understanding of injury and rehabilitation through her own experiences with movement. Alongside Pilates, Abi works in university education, teaching anatomy and physiology to future physiotherapists and occupational therapists.
Abi has a strong interest in helping people feel confident and comfortable with movement. Drawing on her physiotherapy background, she enjoys helping clients understand the purpose behind each exercise while using Pilates to develop strength, control, body awareness and confidence. Her teaching approach is supportive and individualised, with a focus on adapting movement to suit each person, their goals and how their body is feeling on the day.
Abi also has a strong interest in research, particularly around exercise participation and the ways in which in-person and online exercise environments can foster a sense of belonging and become more inclusive and welcoming. She enjoys bringing this curiosity into her teaching and helping people better understand their bodies and movement.
Outside the studio, Abi enjoys strength training, running, Pilates and spending time with her two Labradors!

Pairing these with exercise, especially strengthening exercises, is going to be the best way to lay a solid foundation. Then all those fun extras are the special sprinkle of goodness on top!
Making lists, but not putting too much pressure on myself to get absolutely everything done. I do what I can, and when I feel a bit stressed, I make sure to get outside or relax with my dogs!
