From Tassie to TAS, Esmae Morrow is our new Pilates instructor and plank guru, currently completing her third year of an Osteopathy degree. A runner and rower since her teen years, Esmae’s passion for movement led her to Pilates – and she was hooked from the first set of Hundreds (if you know you know).
Read on to learn about Esmae’s path into Pilates, what’s unique about her teaching style, and her secret (seriously impressive) talent.
HAVE YOU ALWAYS BEEN INTERESTED IN HEALTH AND WELLNESS?
Since I was a teenager, I’ve loved being active and healthy – whether it was rowing, running, or experimenting in the kitchen with nutritious meals. I also played violin, which taught me a lot about posture and body awareness from a young age.
WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO BECOME A PILATES INSTRUCTOR?
I’ve always loved the feeling of movement and those post-exercise endorphins. Pilates helped me feel strong in a supportive and mindful way. It became a space where I could unwind and drop into a flow state, and I wanted to share that experience with others.
I’ve now been instructing for five years. After moving from Tasmania to Melbourne three years ago, I was exposed to a diverse range of studios and teaching styles, which really enriched my practice. I’m now in my third year studying Osteopathy, which has deepened my knowledge around movement, muscular support, and injury prevention.
